Scientific ripening of fruits and the Quran w The Origin of Fruit Ripening goes back to many cultures and civilizations.A review dates it back to Egyptian orchardists slashing Figs for ripining.These techniques of ripening are now known to be based on the production of ethylene.The ethylene stimulate ripening .Research shows even cuts on the plants and twigs result in ethylene production.

Chinese farmers in the ancient times used to ripen pears under incense burning in a room.It is greatly believed that high temperatures and wounding hastenes the ripening process,The author has been a keen observer of riprnning in his earst while apple garden and noticed ripening in the apple droppings.The cattle used to show ethylene poisoning symptoms on over feeding fallen apple.Four thosamd years date back the history of the fruit ripening.However its chemical formulations and production of ethylene are new to the science of ripening even in the present modern days a few decaded ago.How can one believe that a reference in the Holy Quran in its surah Al anam clearly speaks of figs and fruits and describes the genetic basis of the ripening .It does induce its readers to thinck and ponder on the mechanism of the ripening.One does find some scattered reference of science in medival times of Islamic glory.But now all the muslim clergy seems to be ignorant of these scientific truths or need toinvestigate and research.
